On the rational cohomology of the spaces of unparametrized closed curves

Sia M una varietà liscia e chiusa contenuta in uno spazio euclideo $\mathbf{R}^{k}$. Siano poi $H^{1} (S^{1},\mathbf{R}^{k})$ ($S^{1}$ = circonferenza) lo spazio di Sobolev delle curve assolutamente continue $c : S^{1} \to \mathbf{R}^{k}$ tali che $\| \dot{c} (t)\| \in L^{2}(S^{1})$. Sia $\Lambda_{M}$ la sottovarietà di $H^{1} (S^{1},\mathbf{R}^{k})$ delle curve di $M$. Su $\Lambda_{M}$ opera $S^{1}$ per rotazioni; sia $\Pi M$ lo spazio quoziente. In questa Nota si studia la coomologia razionale di $\Pi M$; più precisamente posto $\Pi^{0}M = \Lambda^{0}M = M$ per il sottospazio delle curve costanti si studia la struttura dell'accoppiamento («cap» prodotto): $$H^{\star} (\Pi M,\Pi^{0}M) \bigotimes H_{\star} (\Pi M-\Pi^{0}M) \xrightarrow{\cap} H^{\star} (\Pi M,\Pi^{0}M)$$
