Buffon's needle experiment is widely popular and captures the interest of numerous individuals. Various computer programs have been developed to estimate the value of the number π using Buffon's process. However, a significant issue arises in most of these implementations: they rely on the constant π to execute the rotation of the needle. This paradoxical situation involves conducting simulations to estimate the value of π while simultaneously using π to facilitate the simulation. In this presentation, we introduce two alternative approaches to address this inconvenience. Additionally, we provide a computer program in R to implement the proposed simulations.
