Zygmunt Janiszewski and his connections with Lviv

Zygmunt Janiszewski (1888-1920), an outstanding topologist and a great Polish patriot, founder of „Fundamenta Mathematicae” and creator of the program for the development of Polish mathematics was buried at the Lychakiv cemetery in Lviv. Half a century after the burial, the grave was considered lost, but in January 2020, on the centennial anniversary of his death, the tombstone was found. The article recalls Janiszewski's connections with Lviv and the story of finding the tombstone.
