Izydor Blumenfeld was a Polish mathematician working with integral equations and Riemann spaces. He wrote an essay on Newton and was interested in philosophy. In 1913, he defended his doctoral dissertation in mathematics at the University of Vienna, and from 1921 he was a co-owner of the chemical and pharmaceutical factory "Laokoon" in Lvov. In the years 1924--1938 he was a member of the Polish Mathematical Society and participated in the First Polish Mathematical Congress in Lvov in 1927 with two talks. I became interested in Blumenfeld due to the lack of him information in mathematical dictionaries and because of the announced in 1927, joint paper with Stefan Banach. The person of Blumenfeld is only remembered by publications related to the Polish prose writer and essayist Stanisław Vincenz and a book by Hugo Steinhaus published in 1992.
