The article presents the figure of Professor Zdzisław Grodzki, who was the first specialist in the mathematical foundations of computer science in Lublin, a tutor of many mathematicians and IT specialists from the Lublin environment, a well-known and distinguished person both in the field of science and teaching, an employee of the Lublin University of Technology, and a lecturer at the Institute of Mathematics of UMCS.
