A coordinate-free description of multidimensional Jacobi elliptic coordinates theory is given, which allows to solve the geodesic equation on an ellipsoid and some other equations. Generalizations of theorems of Hewton and Ivory concerning the gravitational, field of an ellipsoidal mass are discussed.
