Pormal asymptotic solutions of wave equation are constructed in a form of concentrated packets of waves, moving along space-time rays. The method of construction, being a generalization of complex ray method in space, is connected with V. P. Maslov technique and based on complex solutions of Hamilton–Jacobi equations.
