Railway wheel and rail contact interaction is considered. Static loading with a vertical force, vertical and horizontal forces and wheel sliding at braking conditions are studied. Stress state analysis of the components, contact pressure and friction force distribution, sticking and sliding zones are investigated based on the finite element method.
