The influence of the locking effect of a diffusion process on the creep rupture strength of metals in aggressive environments is studied. An approximate solution of the diffusion equation with a variable diffusion coefficient is used to model this effect. It is shown that, when determining the creep rupture strength of metals in aggressive environments, it is necessary to take into account a possible locking effect of the diffusion process.
