The problem of the on-line estimation of the parameters of the instrument errors of a strapdown inertial navigation system using the information obtained from a satellite navigation system arises because of the fact that they change in the process of operation. Two types of special maneuvers are proposed in order to make the estimation problem well-conditioned: fluctuations in roll and pitch and a coordinated “snake”. The results of covariance analysis of calibration accuracy are presented.
