The article presents the treatise Particularis de Computis et Scripturis, which was published by Luca Pacioli, one of the most famous Renaissance professor of mathematics, and which is still considered to be the first text systematically devoted to the accounting principles. However, the aim of the article is not only to summarize the main ideas of this treatise, but to construct on the basis of them a reflection on how Pacioli would develop students' financial literacy. The article shows that even today Pacioli's text can be considered an interesting source of inspiration for the work of a teacher who is supposed to teach financial education.
