Simple phenomenological estimates of the strong and radiative decay widths of the $D^*$-mesons are made in the model of the Nambu–Jona–Lasinio type. The obtained values of the decay widths agree with the experimental data. The decay width of $D^*_s \rightarrow D_s\gamma$ is predicted.
