A theorem of Tauberian type is proved for the Fourier transform of generalized functions which have properties characteristic of the electromagnetic form factors of deep inelastic scattering of electrons on protons. It is shown how knowledge of the asymptotic behavior of the form factor in different directions enables one to recover the singular structure of its Fourier transform.
