A study is made of an electron in the field of disordered short-range scatterers in a model that simulates the situation in a weakly ionized dense gas. The optimal fluettiation method is used to find the single-electron density of states in the negative energy region. In the first approximation it has the classical form. The quantum eorrections and the interaction effects between the scatterers are discussed. An expression is obtained for the electron chemical potential.
