This paper deals with a wide class of polyhedra in complex manifolds and with proper holomorphic mappings from one polyhedron to another. For polyhedra satisfying natural boundary conditions, in particular for analytic polyhedra in $\mathbf C^n$, necessary conditions are obtained for the existence of proper holomorphic and biholomorphic mappings of one polyhedron to another.
