In this paper we develop a mathematical model of a wave packet formation due to rapid shut-in of water injector connected with fluid-filled reservoir. A numerical solution of this model have been found and a comparison between the experiments and a numerical simulations have been perfomed. Also we are focused on the optimal parameters choice to provide good accordance between numerical and experimental data.
Keywords: water hammer, nonlinear acoustics, wellbore flow, weakly compressible fluid.
