In this paper, some studies and comments on the Commedia made by outstanding mathematicians in the years immediately after Dante's death and up to the present will be examined. Ideal comparisons between the Supreme Poet and some scientists will also be outlined. Finally, an extremely interesting and underrated essay published by Francesco Severi in 1953 on Dante's perspective on Science will be brought to the fore.
