This paper show the development and results of a project carried out in a high-school inside a prison, thanks to the prize “Italian Teacher Prize”, founded by Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research. The main characters of the project are students that are inmates - co-authors of the paper - who received a mathematical education to create a math lab and mathematics education centre, and then became guides for the lab. The name of the lab is “Vietato non toccare” (It is forbidden to do not touch), same name of the project that allowed its creation. The lab exhibits objects of mathematical interest, but contrary to traditional exhibitions, these object can - or rather must - be touched by visitors.
