Regiomontanus (1436–1476)

The article deals with the life and work of a medieval mathematician and astronomer Johannes Miller – Regiomontanus. It describes his work on the compilation of astronomical tables and the methodology of planetary angle measurement. The relation of the work of Regiomontanus to classical ancient mathematical and astronomical knowledge is described. The importance of his work for the creation of the heliocentric model of the universe by Nicolaus Copernicus is also mentioned.
