The classical algebraic problem of three pasturelands and bulls is expressed as a simple mathematical model with unknown parameters. Then, the model is generalised for an arbitrary number of pasturelands and enriched with the rounding of the time data. This problem results in the solution of a system of linear inequations with the use of Fourier elimination method. However, the given problem can also be considered a model confronted with real data with measurement error. The article compares three ways of balancing the measurement error according to Gauss, Chebyshev and Laplace. The model of grazing down the grass is so simple that all the three ways are easy to perform algorithmically. This can be interesting for both the mathematical experts looking for the motives for their first attempts at computer programming and experienced computer programmers looking for new ways.
