To extend the knowledge on reptilian spermatozoa and their development some aspects of the spermiogenesis in Coluber viridiflavus have been studied by Electron Microscopy; aspects not reported in other Snakes, were recently observed in our works on Iguanidae end in a crocodile. The various stages of the formation of the perforatorium are described. It is evident that the "actomere", present in the young spermatid, represents the origin of the perforatorium. During the nuclear elongation and chromatin condensation two "manchettes" of microtubules were observed. They can be considered as the "circular" and "longitudinal manchette" already observed in the spermiogenesis of Birds. Some attention has been devoted to explain the peculiar relationship between the deve- loping spermatid and the Sertoli cell, because it may be a general feature of the reptilian spermiogenesis.
