Holocene beaches raised to about 30 m above present sea level have been studied and dated at Terra Nova Bay, Antarctica. Minimum ages have been obtained from abandoned penguin rookeries, ranging from 5770 ± 60 to 980 ± 220 uncorrected $^{14}C$ years B.P. A maximum uplift rate of 3.5 mm/year can be derived for the last 4500 years. The highest raised beaches at + 30 m a.s.l. could have been formed about 7000 years B.P.
