The present paper reports two different types of homoplastic grafts in adult individuals of Triturus cristatus carnifex Laur. The first group comprises simple skin grafts, while in the second the skin homografts are preceded by a series of repeated spleen grafts from the same skin donor. Comparison of the results obtained for the two experimental groups has shown that, when preceded by repeated spleen grafts, the skin transplants display greater and more precocious lymphocytic infiltration than in simple homografts. These results are explained by the authors as a consequence of either the aspecific or the specific reaction which occurs in the guest.
