In this work the possible correlations between hemocytes of the cockroaches Nauphoeta cinerea Oliv. and Leucophaea maderae Fabr. and hemoagglutinins synthesis were studied. After a preliminary study of the morphological characteristics of hemocytes, cultures of these cells extracted from Nauphoeta and Leucophaea hemolymph were treated with cycloheximide and then marked with fluorescinated antihemoagglutinin serum. The results of these observations and the possible immunological role of hemocytes are discussed.
