Using Gliese's (1969) and Woolley's (1970) Catalogues, and applying criteria which are described in the present paper, the $\mathbf{u}$, $\mathbf{v}$ and $\mathbf{w}$ components of the Basic Solar Motion have been deduced, obtaining $$w_\odot = + 6.5 \quad , \quad u_\odot = + 10.6 \quad , \quad v_\odot = + 12.4 \quad , \quad namely \quad V_\odot = + 17.3 km/s.$$ The Apex coordinates are consequently l = 48°.6 and b = + 22°.2. The asymmetry of the v-components is tentatively accounted for. The $V_\odot$ does not fit with the average radial velocities of B-type stars in the direction of Apex and Antapex.
