Psoralene, a photodynamic furocumarine, has been tested for mutagenic action on Drosophila males, fed or injected with the substance and thereafter irradiated with long wave UV light ($\lambda$ 3655 Å). The treated spermatozoa bearing a yw marked X chromosome were tested with the M-5 method for sex linked recessive lethals. Psoralene did result mutagenic after feeding in the experiments with UV irradiation and, even if in much smaller extent, in those without irradiation. The F3 results have also shown that ingested Psoralene can induce sex linked lethal mosaics. It has not been possible to reach any conclusive evidence for a similar mutagenic action of the Psoralene after injection. The salivary chromosome analysis of ♀♀ heterozygous for the X chromosomes bearing Psoralene induced lethals has not shown any evident structural rearrangement.
