Leganti a carattere «soft»: caratteristiche spettrochimiche e nefelauxetiche dei calcogeni

The purpose of the present paper is to point out the sequence of the elements of the group VI in the spectrochemical and nephelauxetic series. The experimental work is performed on Co-doped ZnSe, ZnTe, CdSe, CdTe, which exhibit the ligand field spectrum of tetrahedrally coordinated Co++. $\Delta$ values are not extremely low being comparable with those of chloride complexes; $\beta$ values are quite small, decreasing in the order S=, S=, Te= and attaining the lowest positions of the nephelauxetic series.
