Historical aspects of development of probabilistic and statistical sciences

The article is devoted to the historical aspects of the development of probabilistic and statistical disciplines, which are an effective tool in engineering and certainly should be represented by various training courses when studying at a technical university. A historical analysis of the formation and development of probabilistic and statistical disciplines is presented, on the basis of which it is possible to improve and develop methods of teaching these subjects when training students at technical universities. Particular attention is paid to the contribution of Russian scientists to the development of one of the most important branches of higher mathematics, taking into account the demand for engineering specialists in modern realities.
