There exists a wonderful tradition in Russian (and former Soviet) mathematical education. Famous mathematicians who have contributed greatly to mathematics, write books for schoolstudents interested in this science. "Algebra, Selected Themes" (the journal version) is written by outstanding Russian mathematician academician I. Shafarevich. We hope that the publication is interesting for senior schoolstudents and teachers of mathematics.
