Computer simulation of detonation – elastic shell counteraction

Application of finite element numeric calculations to detonation-elastic shell counteraction problem is discussed. Some test problems such as dynamic response of axisymmetrical shell on pressure pulse and 1-D detonation in cylindrical part of containment were solved for comparing results obtained by discussed method with previously published. Results of 2-D calculations of hydrogen-air detonation in concrete containment are discussed in details.
