A heat spreading in metal while laser beam scanning along different trajectories is investigated. A mathematical statement of the problem, a numerical method of its solving and computational experiment results are adduced. The obtained results permit to clarify a qualitive picture of heat distribution on a surface as well as inside a metal and thus to choose an optimal scanning trajectory.
