Integration of virtual reality in educational process

The article presents a survey conducted with trainers at different levels of Bulgarian education (teachers and principals of kindergartens and schools, university professors, teachers in private schools and future teachers), which aims to collect data from respondents with respect to VR – their level of knowledge about the VR technology, their experience with VR and their attitude to integrating VR into the learning process.Based on the results obtained a learning scenario has been developed, which includes VR usage in order to illustrate some, concepts, phenomena, processes hard to understand. The scenario been published and translated into several different languages as a part of an international European project and it has been successfully aprobated in two consecutive years.Integrating VR into the learning process would make it a future-ready learning, i.e. would help learners to acquire 21st century knowledge and skills and prepare students for the future jobs. Статията представя проведено изследване с обучители от различни степени на българското образование, което цели да събере данни от респондентите за степента на познаване на виртулна реалност (VR) технологията, опита им с нея досега и нагласата им за интегриране на VR в учебния процес. На база на получените резултати е разработен учебен сценарий, който включва употреба на VR, за да е възможно да се онагледят някои нелесни за разбиране понятия, явления, процеси. Сценарият е публикуван онлайн и е преведен на английски език за целите на международен европейски проект. Сценарият е успешно апробиран в три поредни години (2018-2020). Подходящо интегриране на VR в учебния процес би превърнало образованието в подготвящо за професиите на бъдещето.
