This work is devoted to the numerical study of the magnetic properties of the Co/Cu/Co system using the VASP software package. The influence of the contributions of magnetocrystalline anisotropy and shape anisotropy on the magnetic anisotropy energy was investigated. The dependence of the magnetic anisotropy, spin-orbit interaction, and dipole-dipole interaction energies on the thickness of the magnetic layer of cobalt was obtained.
Keywords: magnetic anisotropy, ultrathin magnetic films, spin-density functional theory.
