In this article an algorithm of clumps construction under approximation of the arbitrary shaped bodies geometry in the discrete element method is reviewed. To estimate the surface of arbitrary bodies a measure characterizing the surface microrelief of the formed clump is introduced.
Keywords: discrete element method, clump
