Consequences of scientific plagiarism in Polish law

The subject of this paper is an attempt to present the consequences of scientific plagiarism in Polish law. The Polish legal system provides a wide range of sanctions. These are located in different branches of law, such as: civil law, administrative law or criminal law. To achieve the main objective of the paper and to clean the way for further consideration there will be presented the basic terminology issues such as “work”, “scientific work”, “plagiarism” and “autoplagiarism”. This will be an introduction for further studies on the penalties for infringement of copyrightsfor scientific works, including the legal framework for academic teachers.
