A quasi-one-dimensional kinetic model of the flow in a boundary layer near a cool body is proposed. On the basis of the model kinetic equation the heat transfer problem at the front critical point for two-dimensional and axially symmetric cases is solved. A comparison of the numerical results obtained with existing data is presented.
