The statistical particle-in-cell method for multicomponent gases

Aspects of the direct statistical simulation of collisional relaxation and flows of nonreacting gas mixtures are considered. The possibility of using Poisson's random process for simulating collisional relaxation in such mixtures is demonstrated.
