Some aspects of the history of development of seismic prospecting by the method of reflected waves

A link is decribed between the periods in the history of seismic prospecting and the changes in understanding its physical and geological foundations. Particular attention is given to the influence of the technological progress in seismic data processing on the change in inderstanding the structure and composition of the medium under study.
