Some variants of definitions and properties of deformed oscillators are reviewed. The $q$-analogs of coherent states are studied. Some applications of $q$-oscillators, such as $q$-oscillator representations of quantum algebras and superalgebras, $q$-coherent states of $su_q(2)$ and $su_q(1,1)$ quant algebras and the deformed Jaynes–Cummings model are considered. Generalizations to the case of several degrees of freedom are also given.
