Hamiltonian structure of polynomial bundles

A general group-theoretic method is used to define the Hamiltonian structure of non-linear evolution equations whose Zakharov–Shabat potentials depend polynomially on the spectral parameter. Associated coadjoint orbits are determined. Generating functions for the $M$-operators and the densities and currents of the conservation laws are derived.
