On basilar membrane vibration in the mammalia cochlea

The inner ear is considered as a hydrodynamic waveguide with slowly variable properties along its axis. The basilar membrane is interpretated as an anisotropic plate. A method similar to WKB-method is used for calculation of membrane's displacement. The results are illustrated by diagrams.
