In 1974, Chiu employed a two-dimensional Fibonacci search to get optimum
design of Cusum charts. Subsequently, in 1982, Lashkari and Rahim presented an
algorithm to find the design parameters of Cusum charts as well. Their algorithms are
rather complicated. The main purpose of this paper is to propose a simplified, accurate
and efficient solution algorithm for the economic design of Cusum charts.
