On occasion of the promotion of first several issues of the Yugoslav Journal of Operations Research, which took place on the plenary session of the nineteenth Yugoslav Symposium on Operations Research (YU-SYM-OP-IS'92) in Belgrade, in October 1992. J. Petrić, Editor-in-Chief of YUJOR prepared a review of the development of Operations Research in Yugoslavia. The way it passed was necessary in order to put together the conditions for such a journal to appear. This text is dedicted to the promotion of the journal, aiming the in-dept consideration of its origins and everything that should be done before its first issue appeared.
