Growth dynamics of different-aged forest contingents (on the example of Mordovia republic)

Authors of the paper modify and analyze the mathematical model that describes afforestation dynamics in order to predict evolution of different-aged contingents of forest ecosystems. The model under study includes system of difference equations and takes into account competition inside the contingents and between them. The results obtained allow further modelling of ecological processes in biocenosis from a control point of view. The model is validated on real statistical data. Importance of “concurrence” terms in equations obtained is estimated.
