Numerical analysis of natural convection heat transfer regimes in a horizontal cylinder with a heat-conducting shell of finite thickness and a heat core of constant temperature under conditions of convective heat exchange with an environment has been carried out. The mathematical model has been formulated in dimensionless variables such as stream function, vorticity, temperature by means of polar coordinates. Streamlines and temperature fields describing effects both of the heat source and of the environment on the flow and heat transfer regime have been obtained.
Keywords: natural convection, horizontal cylinder, conjugate heat transfer, mathematical simulation.
