In this paper, an example of calculation of a submerged jet, a comparative analysis of the calculation of the characteristics of turbulent jets, with two models. Choosing jet was conscious. To date, the extensive experimental data, allowed good enough to examine the nature of these flows and their main qualitative. We emphasize that the calculations used the default installation of an ANSYS. As a result of modeling, obtained good agreement between experimental and calculated values. In addition, the similarity of the velocity profiles established in the experiment, well proven by calculation. The same calculation “confirms” the main portion of the self-similarity of the jet. Performed a comparative analysis of simulation shows that the model of "$K$$E$", despite its simplicity in comparison with model $SSG$, best quantitative and qualitative description of the behavior characteristics of the flow in the jet stream.
