Portraits of Numbers
This paper is an example of a trial to visualize numbers. Two methods are suggested, embodied in algorithms A and B, and both are based on continued fraction expansions of a real number. Algorithms are illustrated by many examples on various types of numbers. Programs in the symbolic language Mathematica, implementing these algorithms are given in the Appendix.
