Torsion of a circular cylinder at finite strain

The strains in a long circular cylinder made of an incompressible material spinning under the conditions close to the conditions of plane deformation are determined for the case of a given displacement field using the matrix approach. The various approximations of strain matrices are considered. A generalized representation of these matrices in the form of the logarithm of a symmetric operator matrix obtained by multiplying the direct and transposed matrices of the operator of deformation (stretching) is discussed. The strain tensor components are found.
