Horizontal motion of a body consisting of two symmetric plates

The problem of motion of a rigid body, consisting of two equal symmetric plates whose symmetry planes are at a right angle, on a horizontal plane is considered. All equilibria of the body on the plane are found and their stability analysis is performed. The particular case of motion of the rigid body consisting of two equal elliptic plates is studied in details.
