Flutter of conical shells under external flow of a supersonic gas

The well-known piston theory formula for the excess aerodynamic pressure is used in the majority of works devoted to the panel flutter of shells. In this paper, we consider the solution of the flutter problem for conical shells under external flow of a supersonic gas in a new formulation and discuss the effect of new terms on the critical Mach number.
